Masterclass with Gojko Adzic - creator of Impact Mapping.
Impact Mapping, Story Mapping and valuable User Stories with Gojko Adzic
A two-day masterclass in strategic product planning
How do you turn strategic goals into clear priorities, useful product decisions and work that creates real value?
In this two-day masterclass, Gojko Adzic — creator of Impact Mapping — shows how impact mapping, story mapping and better user stories can help teams connect strategy with delivery.
You will learn practical techniques for aligning stakeholders, prioritising based on outcomes, splitting work into valuable slices and keeping product work focused on what matters most.
The masterclass is for product owners, product managers, analysts, developers, testers and business stakeholders who want a clearer way to decide what to build next — and why.
Why join?
Most teams do not lack ideas. They lack a shared way to decide which ideas matter most.
When goals are unclear, backlogs grow. User stories become disconnected from business value. Teams spend too much time managing work and too little time creating impact.
This masterclass gives you practical tools for strategic product planning. You will learn how to connect business goals, user behaviour and delivery decisions — and how to use that connection to prioritise with more confidence.
At Reload, impact mapping has been part of our toolbox for more than 13 years. We use it to help organisations move from broad ambitions and long wish lists to clearer goals, sharper priorities and digital products that work in practice.
What you will learn
Across two interactive days, you will learn how to:
Fight a huge backlog full of unclear, low-value or outdated stories
Prioritise when several stakeholders are all absolutely convinced they are right
Create a bigger picture for prioritisation instead of a stream of disconnected user stories
Report on outcomes instead of only tracking activity and velocity
Get teams and business sponsors aligned on which stories are useful - and which are just noise
Use impact mapping to connect business goals, user behaviour and product decisions
Split “unsplittable” stories into small, valuable chunks
Avoid getting stuck in technical stories that no stakeholder can make sense of
Use story maps for release planning and larger pieces of work
Facilitate impact mapping and story mapping sessions with fewer blank stares and better results
The programme
Day 1: From strategy to impact
The first day focuses on goals, stakeholders, user behaviour and priorities.
You will learn how to use impact mapping to create a shared understanding of success, connect product decisions with business outcomes and identify the work most likely to create value.
We will also look at how to handle large existing backlogs, competing stakeholder needs and the gap that often appears between strategic plans and everyday delivery.
Day 2: From big ideas to valuable slices
The second day focuses on story mapping, feedback and splitting work.
You will learn how to break large ideas into smaller, valuable pieces, improve user stories, avoid overly technical or unclear backlog items and use story maps to support release planning.
The focus is practical throughout: better decisions, less waste and stronger alignment around value.
Expect to be hands-on.
